Sacred Snuff Ambil jar

Storing rapé and Ambil

“Will it keep once I open it?” is a practical question that has come up in our customer conversations. The answer starts with the offering itself: a dry rapé preparation and a jar of Ambil should not be treated as interchangeable products.

Rapé: protect it from moisture

In our correspondence about opened bottles, the central point has been to avoid exposure to moisture. Keep the bottle closed between uses, and use dry hands and dry tools when handling the contents. Store it in a dry place where it will be protected from spills and condensation.

Opening the bottle does not by itself give us a precise shelf-life date. We have not assigned one universal duration to every blend and batch. If you have a bottle you are unsure about, write to us with the blend name and how it has been stored.

Ambil: keep the jar sealed

Our Ambil product guidance calls for an airtight container, away from heat and direct sunlight. Return the lid securely after handling, and follow the description of the particular jar you received.

Handmade Ambil can vary in consistency, flavor and strength between batches. We have discussed that variation with customers when comparing preparations. A different texture is a reason to ask about the batch and offering, rather than assume that every jar should look the same.

Different offerings have different instructions

Read the storage section on each product page. Advice for rapé does not automatically apply to cacao, sprays or another ceremonial offering. The individual listing is the place to begin.

If you need help, tell us which offering you have, approximately when you received it, whether it has been opened, and where it has been stored. That gives us a more useful basis for answering than a photograph alone.
